Freightliner dealer in Fontana, CA, has a big loop behind the parts counter with a lot of different pigtails on it. I bet if you call now, you can get a parts guy's e-mail to show, or he can just yank a b/m off the shelf and match the pigtail for you. I'll forewarn you-the parts counter there...

The part number you listed is a Horton fan clutch, and yes, it is obsolete. I found a new one, though, on find it parts.com for $989. I don't think you're getting hosed at all. Welcome to the wonderful world of freightliner.

Can't help with the first two, however we were at Transicold South in Birmingham yesterday (Carrier) that had some gently used takeoffs. They were on fleet trucks that were being sold, and the buyer had no desire to have an APU. Might be something to think about. Ours has 14k+ hours and still...

TA's and Petro's are a crap shoot. Some have all of the filters, some have some, and some have none. Some know the proper amount of oil, some do not. We always carry 2 extra filters for everything on the truck and APU just for this reason. Never had ours serviced at a Speedco, but I'd bet...
