    M2 owners I need a favor

Freightliner dealer in Fontana, CA, has a big loop behind the parts counter with a lot of different pigtails on it. I bet if you call now, you can get a parts guy's e-mail to show, or he can just yank a b/m off the shelf and match the pigtail for you. I'll forewarn you-the parts counter there...

The part number you listed is a Horton fan clutch, and yes, it is obsolete. I found a new one, though, on find it parts.com for $989. I don't think you're getting hosed at all. Welcome to the wonderful world of freightliner.

    APU Financing

Can't help with the first two, however we were at Transicold South in Birmingham yesterday (Carrier) that had some gently used takeoffs. They were on fleet trucks that were being sold, and the buyer had no desire to have an APU. Might be something to think about. Ours has 14k+ hours and still...

Our first month out with Fed Ex

This is a great update. Hope that 'slowdown' you're expecting in October is written in pencil. In other words, I wouldn't count on it. We've been making hay pretty consistently for the better part of 5 years. Glad to see you're getting some of that sunshine, too.

    Scanners

Disagree. Trippaks are only one thing it's used for. Cross-border shipments, where a fax is unavailable and data service is outrageously expensive is another thing. There are tons more that make the scanner pay for itself in a relatively short time, but FedEx's profit motives, i believe, are a...

    Scanners

My quick guess would be no, but it's just that.....a guess. A quick call to Tom in C-link would answer it.

Those of you that have 05-06 engines. What are your plans for California next year?

Re: Those of you that have 05-06 engines. What are your plans for California next yea I guess the whole 'premature damage to the engine' thing could have also been said before we started recycling that abrasive soot back into the cylinders via EGR. In our case, if we don't buy new, i'm...

    Question about servicing APU?

TA's and Petro's are a crap shoot. Some have all of the filters, some have some, and some have none. Some know the proper amount of oil, some do not. We always carry 2 extra filters for everything on the truck and APU just for this reason. Never had ours serviced at a Speedco, but I'd bet...

Those of you that have 05-06 engines. What are your plans for California next year?

Re: Those of you that have 05-06 engines. What are your plans for California next yea California is now pretty important to us, as well. We're in the same boat as you. You're either buying new, or your retrofitting before January 1 of next year. A short while ago, Team Caffee linked a series...

    A great idea

To be fair, it's free if the prisoner is indigent. Used to be all free....and provided by state employees (in Michigan, at least). Now it's all contracted.

A Striking Contrast Among Motor Carriers

Yawn. Yet another installment in the "Phil Doesn't Like FedEx" saga. Here's another stark contrast: Our carrier...you know, your former one.......had that card in our mitts last fall, when it was issued by the scumbags that run the Erie Canal.....I mean the Thruway. Is this part of the...

You sure he's not too busy, Lawrence? I'm still waiting for my quote callback from him, and it's been the better part of two months. Not just picking on him, as there are a few others in this little business of ours (truck sales/sleeper builders/service providers) who are equally crappy at...
