How Are They Going to Enforce the 30 Minute Break?

Not all loads that require babysitting are placarded. Some are not HAZMAT. Some are just paid for by the customer to help prevent theft or tampering. An example would be something being used as evidence in a legal case where the chain of custody must be ensured.

    C-Time?

When evaluating a load offer many things need to be taken into consideration. We look at pick up times and tolls and base our rate per mile on those and other factors. We declined a load picking up in Chicago during rush hour because the load didn't pay well enough to cover the aggravation of...

    Testing Batteries

I had all batteries load tested today and they all tested good. I bought a new amp meter to test for parasitic drain. With the negative cable off and the meter connected between the negative cable and negative battery terminal it reads 3 amps for a few seconds as the transmission powers up and...

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

You can always do 8-3-3-8. 8 hours on/driving, 3 hours off/sleeper. 3 hours on/driving, 8 hours off/sleeper. Co driver does the opposite. No 30 minute break needed.

Is trucking a good substitute for divorce?

Probably a good trial separation. But you might find out that it is cheaper to keep her.

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

I'm not worried about the 30 minute break. Stop at a rest area and use the facilities, make a sandwich, check e mails or EO while I eat and 30 minutes will fly by quickly. The reset will be more of a problem for solos and teams that do DoD freight requiring one driver to be in attendance. In...

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

Last week we did 6586 miles in 6 days with one of the runs being a driver secure load requiring one driver to be awake, on duty and in the front seat at all times. I ran out of hours on my 70 hour clock and my wife had 4 hours left after delivery. We were in Memphis doing a 34 restart when we...

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

The rules for reset are: (1) Must include two periods from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., home terminal time. (2) May only be used once per week, 168 hours, measured from the beginning of the previous restart.

How Are They Going to Enforce the 30 Minute Break?

    (4) Can the shorter sleeper-berth break (minimum 2 hours) be used to meet the half-hour break requirement? Yes. Any off-duty or sleeper-berth period of 30 minutes or more will meet the requirement. All anyone would need to do is run 8 hours on, three hours off. Three hours on, 8 hours off. For...

    Clink SUCKS!!

We are not having any problems with doing post trip inspections. Just change to on duty and select why from one of the two remarks columns. The only change was the addition of a second remarks column. Don't know about HOS violations as we haven't stopped moving since Monday morning. Sent from...

    Landstar info please

Landstar, like every other company has there warts too. Agents will call and tell you about a load, the BCO will accept and then be asked to wait 15 minutes while the agent books the load. In the meantime another agent will call with another load that the BCO can not accept because he committed...

    Attention newbies!!

I'm trying to understand this 1/3 thing. A team would have to gross $300k to keep $100k in a paid for truck? We have kept between 50 and 60 percent each year for the past three years. And we are just a surface expedite straight truck. Sent from my EVO using EO Forums mobile app
