    Reaganomics Achichtect charged

Sadly for all of us, it's a quid pro quo. For every scum bag Republican administrator that has come to the forefront, exposed, and humiliated, there are an equal number of Democrat administrators that come to the forefront, exposed, and humiliated.

    Crooked drivers

Good analogy Mike, but like fishing, when the big one hits, the waiting all becomes worthwhile. Then, after a rest, you go fishing again.

    Van Loads to big trucks

I reckon the Freight Bill is the Tariff, less the discount, but it's also the Tariff, less the discounts plus the FSC, tolls, and other accessorial charges including Lift Gate, Inside delivery, special handling, dual driver, or constant surveillance. We tend to use the words tariff and freight...

    MATS

Rene' and I just returned home after three great days in the EO booth at MATS. We were pleased to meet old friends, new friend, put faces on some screen names and just plain enjoy the camraderie of the drivers in our business. Lots of Forum members, and a few lurkers, stopped by the booth to...

    Fuel Cards

Providian is a popular credit card company that specializes in folks with poor credit ratings. Their interest rates reflect your credit rating so the rate could be pretty high. The interest rate will not matter if you pay of each month, http://www.aboutprovidian.com/our_products.htm

A Great Day in Expedite Trucking

Lawrence and Speedc will likely post the rules in a short while. Part of the rule is the requirement is for the finalists to have an appropriate CDL to drive their prize away from the Expo.

    Van Loads to big trucks

Is the price quoted to the customer always based on the cheapest vehicle available to service the load ? IOW, are the C/S reps aware of vehicle availability for the load when they make the quote ? If ultimately, a larger truck is sent to service the load that was quoted at a lower vehicle rate...

    Van Loads to big trucks

    >...I notice that you said Roberts Express' tariffs were based >on the weight and dimensions of the freight - is that still >true for FECC ?..."Prices are determined by vehicle size and >distance and calculated based on the prevailing FedEx Custom >Critical general commodity tariff in effect...

    Van Loads to big trucks

RLENT sez: ...If no unit of the required size is available, then the customer is given the option of using a larger sized unit at additional cost (the prevailing rate that the larger unit goes for)... Way back when, Roberts Express established areas they called "Express Centers". These were...

    Van Loads to big trucks

Danny: I have a memory like a sieve, so I'm always subject to correction. In the case of truck vs freight size. FedEx Custom Critical tariffs are generally based on the weight/dimensions of the freight, not the size of the truck. For example...If a "D" truck finds his "C" load weighs more...

    Van Loads to big trucks

Does it happen? It sure does! In the case of our carrier, tariffs are based on dimmension/weight of the cargo, not necesssarily the size of the truck. In usual practice, the customer pays to get one skid at 500# moved and is not concerned whether a van or T/T comes to get it. What appears...

    What are you Haulin'?

I noticed in another thread that one of our members publicly discussed a delivery to a specific customer. It wouldn't take much of an imagination for the bad guys to speculate as to the value of that customer's cargo and to arrange to relieve the driver of it. We should never underestimate the...

    sprinter fuel milage

It seems to me that a new 225/75 R16 (91.96" circumference) tire will travel 10.9% farther than a new 225/70 R14 (82.9" circ.) tire for an equal number of revolutions. Am I wrong in thinking that 16" tires with engine RPM's being the same will produce 10.9% better fuel milage than a 14" wheel?
