    Best mattress?

We have an 11" memory foam mattress on springs. We had the mattress made for the truck with 4" of memory foam on the spring frame at a Verlo store in Saint Louis. That put a stop to all of our bouncing while sleeping and finally enabled us to get sleep while going down the road. The Verlo...

Jeff Jensen and the EO Community

Jeff was one of the most positive people we have ever known. i am still amazed that he turned our last conversation into a laugh fest over things that have happened in the past and him being so positive about our future. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be missed by many.

    EOBR not so BAD

There is good and bad with the new QC and it is here to stay so we might as well make the best of it. The GPS is junk and something we do not use. I am glad that we receive a text message for our load offers as we often do not hear the beep as the QC has been turned down. That to me is one of...

Our theory is run as few miles as possible for the most amount of money. I never know how many miles we run a week but I can down you down to the cents how much money we make. We run on percentage pay not on flat rate.

    Dogs and trucks

We have been traveling with a dog for the past ten years and for a few of those years two dogs until one passed away. Do both dogs have to sleep with you? When we had the two dogs one liked her doggy bed she would sleep in or she would sleep on a front seat. if you want the dogs with you...

I have heard mixed feelings on the flat rate program for tractors. Some of the guys that have been around longer are addicted like we to getting a load offer and seeing what the pay will be for the miles. The newer people are the ones that we hear good things about the flat rate program. They...

I am sure they have the dispatchers have their moments and I know screwup do happen such as double dispatch. There are checks and balances built into the computer system to keep favoritism out of dispatching. We have sat with dispatch on numerous occasions and I do not think they care or for...

Greg there are "favorites" but I do not believe they are dispatched as favorites and if they are the dispatcher is going to lose her or his job.

    Solo Drivers

We have friends who have done this for a long time and have mastered learning how to sleep and get the job done safely. As a team this is something that we do not struggle with as we have our set times to drive. Can any of you solo guys give hints to new people on how to learn how to...

No favorites at FCC it is the FIFO system. A new person can get a load just as fast as someone who have been here ten years. The reason for many of the low load offers is due to excessive dead head.

Talk to a recruiter and ask for names of other O/O that you can talk to. Ask to talk with a few drivers that are T/T and either Solo or Team like you will be running. Try to find someone as close to how you will do things as possible and more then one person. Ask the recruiter for the what...

    FED EX Ground?

Days at a time? How about months at a time? We stay out from 6 weeks to 2 1/2 months. We are a straight D truck non reefer. We are profitable as this is our only source of income and we do not plan on retiring soon. We work with Marc Hodges at FCC and he has always been good with us.
