    2007 Peterbilt 335

Sharp, We don't have any 335's. But, have had exceptional service from our 330's. The 8.3/315 coupled with the super ten make a really good combination. The 8.3 is inframeable, if you are going to keep it for a while. Can't help with the 335 tho.

Considering buying 4 trucks from owner

Wayne, with the experience under your belt, and being retired, i'd stay retired. With four trucks, and, knowing little about the business, you will most certainly be able to add "education" to your resume. Remember, bad decisions build character.

HELP??? Where to go??? Not go???

IF, you give up that easily, this occupation (probably) is not for you. Best you stay (maybe) with the big trucks and the long waits at the shipper and receiver. Your question was like asking which big truck company is best. Ya got an answer for that?

    Fleet Owners Beware

I really hope this foray into the subject has some teeth this time. It would certainly and quickly take care of the "too many trucks" thing. Too many trucks is not a good thing. Maybe, equipment will be affordable for the folks that really want to do this, without [the} monkey on their back.

    DRIVER WINS AGAIN

OVM, Gwinner is butiful this time of year, specialy if a good run save you from a DH home. Most folks really don't understand what they are up against in this business. The diversity of folks is amazing to me. A lot of em probably can't believe someone actually lives up there, and a run to...

    A happy ending, I guess!

On the other hand, it might be wise to walk away from anyone, on either side, owner or driver who has a "relationship" with a lawyer. I have discovered there are not any happy endings (totally) in any driver owner partnership. Partnerships are really, really frail, depending on expectations...

    A happy ending, I guess!

Thats one problem with a expediters workshop I attended once. By the time the event was finished, i'd have RUN to the table to see where I could "sign up for this gravy train", IF I had not been around for a while in this business. Some are in fact "experts" in their own right. However, the...

    Panther people

RE: off topic But, are the real or, imagined problems like Berneih's. If one was prepared for the "out of the way places", one could sleep in the peace and quiet that they offer. And, not have to DH back there to load freight, deadheading again from the truck stop or Wall Mart is not...

    Changing lanes in Expediting

Not sure there are any clear cut lanes in expediting, but, if all you see is fedex and a black cat out there, there may not be any hope anyway. There is lots of refer freight in expedite.

    When the going gets bad!

Phil: In your wildest dreams, you, (one person) could not come up with the stuff people do, in regard to what they think their time/knowledge/experience is worth in this, or any other business. Many it seems, feel the world owes them, to be comfy and carefree, alowing others to provide that...

Is straight truck expediting worth the time?

Didn't mean to put the monkey on the Caffees back, but, you it appears are a successful hw team that should be able to pick the pepper from the fly poo pretty quickly with some well placed questions. Something I can't, one revelation at a time.

So, you are middle aged +, no puppies, however, a grandchild, maybe more on the way. When the others arrive how many more couple times a year off the road will surface? Maybe you should PM the Caffees.

Is straight truck expediting worth the time?

If you are looking for bucks only, the loads will not ALWAYS be there. Pucker factor WILL be high, versus punching the clock, being on the dole. Family? Puppies or what? Makes a difference.

    When the going gets bad!

Seems to me, by the typing I see, that, "musical carriers" will start some months earlier this year. Whatca think? I'd like to know how they think they better themselves also. My advice is, don't let your present carrier break you (or nearly) before you look over the fence. I used to...
