    Dang gum junk!!

My "electric nanny" other wise known as the "electric brick" is already acting up. Every time you slide the keyboard out or in the screen goes GA-GA. Lines all over the place and it sometimes causes it to crash. I have NO idea who the idiot was who designed that slide out but they need their...

    Today sucked

Made our pick up early and headed out. Got a bit up the road and the truck started to shimmy like Little Eva in the side show!! Limped it into the TA in Duncan, SC. Bearings OK, tires, OK, wheel balancers, OK. Drive train, OK. Had them break down the steers, balance and rotate them. Changed...

    Shocks

It is getting to be time to replace the shocks on my truck. I heard about "Road King" shocks, are they worth the price difference compared to the every day "yellow shocks"? What other shocks are out there?

    Check engine light off

Got my check engine light problem solved. It was a bad boost sensor. Small repair, under $400 which included getting a few other minor things tightened up. Next chore? Getting my old broken fridge out and getting the new one installed.

    Truck repairs

Got a lot of work done on the truck while at home. ALL the coolant leaks are now fixed. New rear brakes/drums, U-joint, steering U-joint and a host of "little things" to go with it. I will be getting the steers rotated, new shocks and the new "electronic nanny" the next time I am home. Can't put...

    Hose blows out.

Mrs. Layoutshooter had the distinct pleasure of having a coolant hose blow out just after we started up the mountain going west on I70 out of Denver. We had JUST left the TA, saw no problems there. Only went about 15 miles when it blew. It only took 2 hours for a truck to come up and fix it. It...

    New refrigerator

We picked up a new Frigidare 4.4 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer today. It was on sale for $223.00. It will NOT get put in this trip home. We are going to have to have cabinets rebuilt to have it fit. It has a good size REAL freezer. It is going to be nice once it is all finished.

    How Much?

Ok, I have this ProHeat APU. It sucks. It breaks a lot. This time I think it is likely to be the alternator. Has anyone out there had on replaced lately? If so, can you give me a rough idea as to how much it cost you? Parts, labor etc?

    Air Tabs

I put the AirTabs on today. They went on nice and easy on the sides. I am not too happy with the roof. My roof is not smooth on top. I have a feeling that I am going to end up buying about 30 more and redoing the roof somehow. 25 for the roof and 5 extra. I just had enough to do the truck, no...

    Question for Turtle

I have been calling around looking for a Trojan Battery, a SCS225. None of my local stores carry Trojan batteries anymore. One place is talking about a U.S. battery instead of the Trojan, a US31DCXC. I no nothing about this battery or the company for that matter. How does it compare to the Trojan?

    Good Service

We were traveling across Idaho a week ago, got called into a scale, the guy at the scale informed me that I had a tail light out. No ticket, no warning, just told me to stop at the Love's at exit 211 off I-84 to fix it. We drove there and of course is was not just a bulb. It was late at night...

    Dang Gum Plastic Parts

I just wasted the better part of 2 hours working on the dashboard in my truck, a M2112. Because of the plastic dash AND work done prior to my owning this truck, the entire mess is starting to just break-up. As I removed screws, rather large pieces of plastic dash started to fall off. One piece...

    Drive Shaft Balance

I have been reading about a doohicky sorta like the automatic wheel balancers for drive shafts. Do these things work? Do they cut enough vibration to reduce wear? Are they worth the money? Inquiring minds want to know.

    What to do?

Ok, let's say that I came up with a ton of money (:D) , which I have not (:(), and wanted to buy a new APU. Is there a market for parting out or selling used APU's? If so where are the outlets? Second question. Is anyone out there using a ComfortMaster APU? If so, what is the scoop? Does it...

    Michelin Tire

It is getting close to tire buying time and I am most likely going to put the XZA3 tire on my drive axle. It seems that there is a XZA3 Duo as well. I tried to look that up on the Michelin site but the site is not working. Anyone in here know the difference? I am also considering the Dunlop...

We talked with Speedco yesterday and they are refunding my money for that bad re-cap. We will continue to do business with them as long as they fix problems like this. They were very fast at fixing the problem and very polite to talk with.

    Speedco Problems

I was at the Speedco in Kenly, NC for a PM when the guy came out from under the truck and informed me that I had steel cord showing on one of my lift axle tires. I looked and sure as shootin it was. Since it was on the lift axle and not my drive axle I decided to put on recaps, cash is very...
