    Hino Nightmare

Nah. Was not insinuating anything. The only message here wuz- you are the paying customer, don't allow others to force you costly errors. Details were not watched it seems. Above all, YOU dictate the delivery, not someone else, when things are right and good to go.

    Hino Nightmare

You kinda read like a nuther fella that types on here, and has all the answers. My question is then, why did you accept delivery in the first place if you understood it was not right, and with your wrenching skills, why don't you fix it? I understand parts are expensive, but downtime ain't...

    Hino Nightmare

I guess hind sight is 20/20 for you now, and you wish you had not accepted delivery of that truck in your haste to "get rolling", with what you have described as obvious speching mistakes. Many will listen to the sales people about delivery schedule, and "claim" to be truck experts, when, they...

MAX WEIGHT INCREASE for trucks equipted with APU .

Very generous, 400 lb. Must be taking the APU mfr propaganda to figgure that. We removed an APU a while back. By the time we got the unit off and ALL the other things (control pannel, wiring, hoses, coolant, etc.) wala, we were bout 950lbs lighter.

    Panther tractors...$1.30 a mile?

Well, putting it that way, then bout two thirty would be equitable, considering what is being charged the customer. Other miles, for poops and grins, to a truck stop, or sumpin else should be on you for sure. On a side note, it's been a long, long time since i've seen so much freight...

Yepper it wuz more. But, if you have to or choose to wait for the administrative bs, you may as well go on vacation. Interestingly, bout the time we were going to settle. Katrina came along, and the insurance company for the other truck is based in LA. Funny how things not related to your...

    Hino Nightmare

Six months Dave? We had a truck rear ended in a construction zone nearly three years ago. Have not settled for the down time yet. And, had to pay the repairs to get the truck back to work right away, steada waiting for......things to happen.

    Panther tractors...$1.30 a mile?

A buck thirty all miles in a tractor?? How can that be appealing to you?? I wouldn't even consider that rate for, watsit-- a New York second. But, like Dave types, we do waaayyyy beter'n that with straight trucks, and you can always change your mind.

    Roadcheck 2008

Sadly, it's still a violation. Seems if you will take care of the details, the big stuff just seems to fall in place.

    Roadcheck 2008

Well yes, seems it takes a fanatic to be sucessful in this business there ice. Seems if you don"t wanna some times on a short fuse, you'll sit for a while. Oh well, some'll learn an some won't. We all might find it's not a perfect world with sunshine and 68 everyday. But, you still can be...

    Roadcheck 2008

It's worse than sad there pelican, but, a fact of life it seems these days. The only problem I had with a "reward" was i figgured one of the clowns, one day would be short a hunnerd bucks and stop at a scalehouse and ask for an inspection when they wern't ready. Luckily, it didn't happen.

    Hotel Deals

Actually, with the cost of fuel (even for a generator system), the cost of the generator, the cost of a "large" sleeper, i'm not sure if i were to get into this game serious again, I wouldn't just buy a truck with an extended cab (for loging purposes) and have a larger capacity machine, and use...

    Pickup expediter

You can use many types of equipment in this biz. We used a Jeep Liberty for one move in Florida last winter. How many of you have picked up an envelope and placed it in the right stick seat of a straight truck to get the job done??

    Roadcheck 2008

Sounds good to me there jw. Buttt, there is a fella mentioned on a nuther thread, that has been with seven carriers in a short period. There are many like that. Makes little difference to them about a lease. It's about short term gain a lot of instances, not a career, like for many more. As...

    Roadcheck 2008

Wake up there caffee! Many don't own the truck, so, therefor, don't care. And, others, that own the truck, don't care. Just a paycheck in the short term is what matters, most. And, the "truck" is only part of the equation for a successful level one. To me, it's actually good business to...
