Amp hours = weight in lead. How many amp hours are you planning? You're gonna need a snotload to operate a space heater. Anything resistive heat (elected heater, AC, toaster oven, sump pump, etc) does not get asking with and just well with batteries. Even a rice cooker draws too much.
