Cargo Van Merecedes Benz Sprinter--Looking for work

Thanks Treadmill. bassspoted, I would ask blizzard, he has more info on getting your own authority and how to find the brokers. If you review his older posts, you'll find a lot of info on that. I am an O/O leased to one carrier and don't know much about having your own authority stuff. At the...

Oops! I just check this site again, it may not have the tires specs(E rating)for your vehicle. But I think the rating results of the brand you selected may give an idea what brand you want to choose.

    Solo Straight Truck Driver?

Good info. Day of the Deuce and a Half, M48 and 60 that would most likely be in the late '70 or early '80. I was going to say use the GI Bill benefits to get the CDL training. But looks like it has expired. Check with the VA anyway, there might still be something for the Vet.

How Much Do You Really Make per Hour?

My thought, when the IC starts talking about rate per hour, the IC status may be crossing into the employer-employee relationships. Therefore, I am thinking the same way as Ragman. I think the annual net or gross would paint more accurate picture in our line of business.

Trying to find insurance for my cargo van. Can anyone help me please!!!!

Do more research, make the calls and compare. Be certain that you have the right coverages. The cost will be based on your driving history and other factors. Or.. could be cheaper if sign up with the carrier that offered the in-house insurance, with the strings attached of course. And as a...

Sorry to hear that. The new compressor should run under $200. If you can replace it your self and you could save some serious bucks. On your compressor, I believe its 6 bolts that you have to remove. Once replaced you can have the shop evac and recharge the system. DIY videos are on youtube...

After about a week without the AC, I didn't feel like crawling under the DATSUN NV2500. So, I had the service shop run the AC diagnosis to make sure it wasn't just the burnt AC coil. I was hoping that he can just replace the coil and I'll be on my way. The mechanic presented me with the...
