    Who should pay?

I'll second that. I had a owner a few years back who thought that I was his mechanic and errand boy. (semi) I was just filling in for his regular driver, a friend of mine who was recovering from surgery for 2-3 months. I replaced his turbo, fan belts, and rewired part of his dashboard area. I...

    Who should pay?

If you are just starting out as a new driver with this owner, I think it would be up to you to pay for your travel expenses to the place of hiring. If you are already working for the owner and he/she wants you to go pick up a new or abandoned vehicle.... its on him/her.

    Which truck/van is best

Hello, I think you are being naive to think you can just come off the street and break into truck ownership without prior experience. There are just too many things to learn out here before you decide to buy your own truck. It is a major adjustment adapting to the life of a truck driver...

    tire prices rising again

Everything is going up. The dollar is at a very weak point right now. Get ready to bend over for the coming fuel hikes as well, since we import over 60% of our oil. Bad time to break into expediting, but I'll make it ok.

    Think you deserve respect?

I have seen so many disgusting acts by drivers at the truck stops. I stopped using them altogether with the exception of buying fuel. I was a owner operator pulling for Schneider my last few years on the road. Their larger terminals were 1st class, and spread out pretty nicely. The most...

give to me straight can it be done w/out going crazy

Class B is pretty simple stuff really. Just get the booklet from your DMV and study up. Air brakes quiz section is the part that you really need to pay attention to. Pre-trip is basic stuff. My wife passed her non driving exam, and the road test on her first try.

    Michigan illegally harassing CVs?

You are wrong. We elect officials who go on to makes laws. It is the duty of the citizen to follow the law. If the citizen(s) do not like any given law, then it is thier duty to lobby thier congressman to change a particular law. A second way to change a bad law would be to work through the...

    Michigan illegally harassing CVs?

Officer friendly is not there anymore because people have lost the the fine art of acting civil towards police officers. The police are always 1 mistake away from a lawsuit for thier actions. If the american people would wake up and realize that life is not like the Jerry Springer show...

Who makes the best Sprinter Van?

Hello everyone. I have decided to pull the trigger on a new Sprinter van and go to work. Construction is dead now, and it looks to stay that way for a few years. I drove for OTR for 7 years after I retired from the Navy, and have been missing the road some what. If all fails with expediting...
