CSA 2010 in either going to be a companies and drivers worst nightmare or their best friend. The drivers are now going to be rated and that rating will follow you from company to company and you as a driver can help or hinder a companies score. From what I have seen drivers with a good score...

New Mexico Port of Entry and Prepass

I called Pre Pass and found out more details on what licensed Hazmat actually entails. If your company has Alliance for Uniform Hazmat Transportation Procedures you do not have to stop at the scale in Ohio. Check your permits and see if you have this form. If you do not have this form you...

Questions to ask before accepting load

aileron this is where a network of contacts can come in very handy for you! When we were first starting we had contacts of other trucks that were very similar to us and we used them for advice. We would often take that load to the middle of no where for to low of money but we found that if...

Why do journalists write about trucking ?

Good post! There is so much negative press about truck drivers we feel that anything we can do to show there is another side to trucking we try to do. Sometimes not getting paid for everything you do can you further down the road then always asking for compensation.

Questions to ask before accepting load

We are a straight truck and we still have the same questions when we are offered a load. The first question is what does the load pay ALL miles and by all miles I want to know from out last delivery to the delivery on the load offered. Where will we be when we deliver this load? Are we going...

    Bacon

Greg someone else was just telling me about the idea to cook the bacon on the grill but they went one step further. They have a cast iron skillet only used for bacon and they drilled a hole in the pan to keep bacon drained while cooking. He said he has been doing it that way for years and like...

    Bacon

I do not do 30 to 40 minutes for bacon! That does not sound like fun Jim which is why my bacon is usually a clumped mess! I like really crisp bacon and have found my best luck is to just do it all in a pan and get it over with.

    Bacon

Did I mention I HATE to cook bacon so even one pound of bacon tries my patience to no end. I also really like bacon and I have been pleased with how well this bacon has lasted and also the flavor. I will be doing this again next time we go home!

    Bacon

Buying precooked bacon is expensive but it is really convenient to heat up in the truck. I am not going to cook bacon in the truck as I think the smell would linger for days on end. I was listening to a show a few months ago and the host came up with for me the perfect solution. Last time I...

    Wanting to get into expediting!!

aj1313 I will give the standard reply. Read Read Read all of the forums back as far as you can. You will find that it is harder for a solo to make it in expediting and even harder for a solo, non O/O to make it in a van. Another thing you will find as you read is we are most often in the big...
