    LEA

Highway disaster is gone. Starting the beginning of the year units will be having qualcomm put into them. Stay safe out there!

    newbie, wannabe, maybe

I believe that some O/O with LEA (Landstar Express) operate that way(taking long periods of time off). Of course, the deductions continue, and there's no income, but if you want to, you can take extended periods of time off. Stay safe out there!

    Aerocells

Thanks Marty for the reply. I had talked to an Aerocell dealer, and he claims I can register it under the 10,000 limit, and that it weight fall under the 10,000 lbs. Logging wouldn't bother me too much as I already have to log my van time: I sometimes drive a straight truck. Stay safe out there!

    Aerocells

Does anyone out there use an Aerocell van for their B unit? What do you think of it? I am trying to decide between an Aerocell and a Sprinter. Any comments? Stay safe out there!

    own authority

Also, get out to RFD (Rockford). They are always going through vans. Quite a few vans go there, take a load, and deadhead right back because they know they will get something else. My husband (a D) talked to the van drivers out there when he was there. I myself (a B) am in PA most of the...

    PAY?

When we had drivers (several years ago), the driver got whatever he could get loaded onto his com card. That was about 1/2 of what the truck got. The driver paid the fuel. The driver got the fuel surcharges (whenever we got them). We paid for repairs to the vehicle. The exception was if the...

    NEED INFO ON LANDSTAR

Just curious, but how do you define "not to long with them"? My husband and I have been with LEA since 1997, and we don't run team. We have one D and one B with them at the moment. Last year was rough, but this year is much better (so far). Just like with any company, it doesn't work for...

    Body work

If you are near Allentown, PA, call Interstate Towing & Collision (aka Krumsville Auto Body). They do good work and are reasonable. Stay safe out there!

    cancelled load

I had a load that didn't cancel, but it was discovered it was 2 inches too big to fit in the doors of the van (B unit). I was paid for showing up (~$150). Shipper had to stay late until the company could get another truck in there. I had about 120 miles deadhead each way (from home then...

    Slow ? ? ?

My husband and I run a D and a B. From Sept. 30 to Oct. 9 I went from PA to FL three times (B unit): first good week all year. I've had one run this week. This week he is doing better. He picks up his 4th run on Thurs morning (10/18). This is one of his better weeks in quite a while...

    Logging Info Needed

I was told any commercial vehicle over 10,000 lbs you need a log book. Our van is registered 9,500 so I don't need to log. I've heard that in Louisiana though you need to log, but I haven't been there, so I don't know if it's true or not.

    Expediting load board

Thanks for the info. 15 loads in a year is a bit better than one a month, and it would only take one a month to pay for the subscription. Are there any areas of the country that are under represented (for example: no freight in the west, and only in the east)? Thanks!

    Expediting load board

Hi, I see there is an expediting load board available here. Has anyone gotten loads from it? Is it a busy board? I tried a demo search, and it found nothing in the areas I tried. I don't mind subscribing if I can get freight from it, but the demo results are discouraging. Anyone out there...
