    Sweet Cop Car!

Every cop I've talked to prefers the Crown Vic over the Impala and the Charger. The Impala is gutless and the Chargers roof is a killer for tall officers.

Bad brake job, have some Q's..

If you got new drums they are generally coated with a cosmoline type substance,to prevent rust. This has to be washed off prior to installing them.If its left to "burn off",then your brake shoes could become contaminated,and/or your drums could overheat.Take it back and ***** until it's done...

    air compressor

If you don't have a drier, you may have spitter valves, which sometimes stick open.Keep an eye on them, too.

    RoadCheck 2009 ,June 2-4 !

Westbound I-76 scale near Lodi. There is usually an OSP officer there that does not know how to measure brakes.Got me 3 years in a row. Each time my road service found no problem.Rest of the time, this guy usually works Akron.

    Where to park

I've worked with guys that just love truckstops, and stopped there for everything.Perhaps your co driver is one of those, although he didn't have to act the way he did.Personally,I can't stand truckstops and avoid 'em whenever I can.

    old drivers

I find it curious that insurance companies will insure 2 week wonders at Swift that kill someone every 12 days, but not experienced drivers.

    Diesel Fuel or?

The International dealer on Gilchrist in Akron has a service truck with a sign on the back that says "Powered by waste oil" or something like that.It did seem to smoke a little more, and I also wondered about the legality.

    8-2 Logging

The only way this works is if you take 2 hrs sleeper time in the 14 hr period,it does not stop the clock, however. Then you can do 8 hrs in the sleeper when you are finished.IMO it does not gain you anything.

    Sorry, I'm out of hours!

Bus drivers operate under the old rules-!0 hrs driving.no restart, etc. The press is treating this like "work rules" or "union rules".Nowhere has anyone said it's FEDERAL rules,so naturally the public stays uninformed, and blames the driver or union for this.Maybe she should not have left the...

Opinion on Company getting Plates 4 Tractor??!!!!

Just remember,if the company buys your IRP plate, they own it.Should you leave, they keep the plate. Then you have to go thru the registration process all over again.

    front axle capacity

Federal bridge says 20,000 on steers. Here in Ohio,it's 650 lbs per inch of tire width. The caveat is how the width is defined. Some scales will give you the tire size,so if you have 1100Rs,you can scale 14,300.Others will give you the tire measurement, and that equals 13,200.If you have floats on...

Convert a Tractor to a Staight Truck

Make sure you have the driveline set up correctly, avoid anyone who just "adds driveshafts".I've spent thousands correcting such a problem.Go with the least amount of carriers and yokes you can.

i need a witness to prove i am not a liar

RE: i will explain it one time more ok I think Greg334 may be on to something.I've hauled totes in the past, and the sloshing can be downright dangerous.Containers of liquid are rarely if ever filled to the brim, allowing for expansion. So even from a standing start, the turn may have been just...

    Inappropriate loading,(long term implications)

For small fleets like me,it all comes down to availability.I've put pickup sized loads on my 24' tri axle flatbed. The customer gets serviced, and then they may call you for that "big load".I've also put big loads on smaller trucks, because some places can't accommodate bigger trucks.Again, its just...

Nationwide Roadcheck program begins June 5th!

The same thing happened to me at that scale. Was told I had 3 brakes out of adjustment, and put me out of service. I just had the brakes adjusted. So the shop that did the work came out and he said the brakes were fine, but he adjusted them anyway.Thing is,they didn't recheck them or anything,just...
