The Women In Trucking Association will once again recognize female professional drivers and their accomplishments at the 2nd Annual "Salute to Women Behind the Wheel" to be held April 2, 2011 at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

Anne Ferro, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, was the featured speaker for the group's first "Salute" in 2010. Ferro helped present safe driving awards to more than 100 drivers who reached safety records of 1 million to 3 million miles. Deborah Hersman, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, will be the keynote speaker this year.

In 2010 the female drivers gathered for a group photo in their complimentary red "Salute to Women Behind the Wheel" T-shirts. The first event drew 290 drivers, and this year WIT expects to break the Guinness World Record of 417 female drivers gathered in one place.

Any female professional driver and immediate family members are welcome and are not required to be a member of Women In Trucking.
