PLOVER, Wis. — The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation was formed in 2011 to provide financial assistance to anyone pursuing education in the area of safety, truck driving, leadership, or as a technician and is accepting scholarship applications through the end of January.

Since 2013, the organization has awarded 24 men and women scholarships. The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation recently conducted its second annual holiday auction which raised $1,628 for its scholarship fund.

The WIT Foundation is encouraging anyone attending a training facility to submit a scholarship application at http://www.womenintruckingfoundation.org/scholarship/.

Award recipients will be notified in February.

Anyone pursuing a career in the trucking industry may apply. Membership in the Women In Trucking Association is not a prerequisite (although certainly encouraged). Scholarships are not limited to women, either.

More information can be found at womenintruckingfoundation.org.

Women In Trucking Association Inc. is a nonprofit association established to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.
