Why Stoops Specialty Trucks in Fort Wayne, IN

With over 10 years of driving experience, Gary and Michelle Piatt know the importance of a reliable vehicle. After being OTR for seven years, and after taking a short hiatus from the industry, they decided to team up again in May of 2012.

“We were intrigued with the expediter trucks.  We took the plunge and purchased a used truck from a dealership in OH and signed on with FedEx Custom Critical,” said Michelle. Unfortunately, their truck lived up to her name: 'Titanic.' “She broke down on our first run and many times after. In 7 short months they sold her and began contract driving with Expediter Services while saving for a brand new truck.

Over their time with Expediter Services, they were told about Stoops Freightliner and got in contact with Jeff Jones. “Jeff was always cheerful and ready to answer all our questions,” exclaimed Michelle. “Every time we called to check up on the progress  of the truck he was very intent on making sure our checklist of custom options was complete and always eager to make suggestions or comments.”

When asked about their experience purchasing a truck with Jeff Jones, the Piatts raved, “I think the biggest thing we like about Jeff is that he is a down to earth guy and always makes us feel like he is happy to see us and makes time in his busy schedule to spend some time with us.  Even after the sale! He's happy to shuttle us to the hotel if we need to stay overnight and we always have lively conversations en route.”

Lastly, we were curious if the Piatts would recommend this process to others and if they were overall, happy with their result. Michelle confidently responded, “Jeff is very knowledgeable about the construction of the expediter trucks and if he doesn't know the answer to a question he knows where and how to find it. We would definitely purchase another truck from him and we often recommend him.”

The Piatts received their new Stoops truck in December of 2013 and are very proud of the result.
