UPDATE: Class 8 truck sales up 15.1% from last year in November

Class 8 truck sales increased 15.1 percent in November from the same period last year for a total of 19,231 sold, Ward's Automotive reported December 9 in figures updated today.

The November sales contributed to a year-to-date total of 228,024, up 17 percent from last year's 11-month total of 194,968.

However, the November sales were essentially flat compared to October 2015, down 0.1 percent.

Freightliner led all manufacturers with sales of 9,208, up 61.8 percent from November 2014.Western Star and Volvo also posted double-digit increases over last November.

Mack, International and Peterbilt trailed with double-digit decreases from last November.

For the year, Freightliner also leads in sales with 88,514 units sold, a 27.8 percent increase from last year. Kenworth came in a distant second in November, with 34,175 sold year-to-date for a 25.3 percent increase. Year-to-date, only International posted a decrease, with 26,674 units sold, down 5.5 percent from last year.
