Truck driver run over by his own rig
A truck driver was seriously injured after being run over by his own truck after he apparently failed to set his parking brake before checking underneath his truck.
Rene Ramirez, 41, of Gurnee, IL, sustained a broken leg and other injuries, in the incident that occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. According to Kenosha County, WI, Sheriff David Beth, Ramirez was injured after making a delivery to Mariani Nursery in the Village of Bristol, WI.
Beth told “Land Line Now†on Tuesday, Aug. 14, that Ramirez “either heard some noise from under the truck while he had been driving or in some other way thought there was a mechanical problem, so he was looking under the truck. It appears that his shirt was maybe pulled under the truck. The truck began to roll so he got caught up under the truck and ultimately the truck came to rest on his legs.â€
Beth said that one of the Mariani Nursery employees heard Ramirez yelling for help and moved the truck off of his legs.
