The Great Wall of Chia?

In Ohio, the media are calling it the “Chia Pet Wall” but the state Department of Transportation refers to it as “The Green Wall.” Whatever you call it, it’s a sound barrier the department plans to build along a 400-foot stretch of Interstate 70 east of Columbus.

Instead of being built of stones and mortar, the DOT’s Scott Varner says “it will be a growing, living thing.”

Varner says if the first green wall does a good job of reducing traffic noise and can be maintained at a reasonable cost, Ohio might consider more so-called “Chia Pet walls.”
