The Great Lakes Convoy Supports Finding a Cure
September 21, 2011
- The Great Lakes Convoy committee is proud to announce the 1st Annual Great Lakes Convoy for the Awareness, Prevention and Cure of Women’s Cancers. The Great Lakes Convoy will host a one day rally with participating trucks and bikes, escorted by law enforcement officials, traveling to and from the Petro at Exit 71 off the Ohio Turnpike and I280 crossing the Veterans Glass City Skyway.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 24th, 2011 and begin with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. To participate, truckers and bikers will donate a minimum registration fee and will receive a t-shirt, lunch, entertainment and entry into raffles at the “Rock the Lot†celebration after the convoy at the Petro. The event is presented by Bolt Express with other sponsors including Barrett DirectLine, Petro Stopping Centers, Tri-State, Load 1, Airtabs, Schmidt Truck Stores, CIS Commercial Insurance, ESPAR of Michigan, Bolt Custom Trucks, Scott’s Commercial Truck Services, Panther and Expediters Online.
The Great Lakes Convoy, founded by survivor Michelle Dunn and Bolt Express owner-operator Jeanie Silk, is comprised of the women at Bolt Express and their family and friends. They have come together fueled by their personal experience with the disease, to promote a cause they are passionate about, women’s cancer. The idea is to celebrate the lives of survivors, those who have lost their battle and those who have not yet begun to fight, by raising funds to support awareness, prevention, and a cure for all women’s cancers alike.
It is our honor to start a tradition that we hope will last many years and raise funds for a cause near and dear to our hearts, women’s cancers.
It is not too late to register, sponsor, or volunteer and for more information please contact Michelle Dunn at 419.729.6633 or [email protected]
