TEANA’s 1st Annual Winter Networking Weekend
January (2016) – The Expedite Association of North America, better known as TEANA, is holding its first annual Winter Networking Weekend in sunny Key West, FL from January 29-31. After polling the TEANA member base, it was decided that a winter event would be very beneficial to the organization and after much planning and support from our executive board, we were able to make it happen.
With about a month until the meeting, there are over 70 people from 32 companies that will be in attendance. There will be an informational session on Saturday morning covering the future of TEANA and our industry, the termination of VOI, member engagement, FMCSA 2016 Legislative Agenda, carrier relations and many more. This meeting will take place at the Westin Key West Resort and Marina and will include numerous networking opportunities for attendees.
TEANA Board President and Vice President of C&M Transport, Mike Pettrey, says, "It was important to me to continue the tradition of our annual Winter Membership Reception, a one night only event during the annual Omnitracs convention, but make it exclusively for expediting. TEANA's goal with this new event is to give our members an opportunity to get together over several days, instead of a few hours, and create an agenda geared specifically towards our industry. With this being our first annual Winter Networking Event, it is great to see that our list of attendees has exceeded our expectations."
Attendees will have ample opportunities to meet with fellow industry executives throughout the weekend. Start the weekend off with TEANA's fishing charter excursion on Friday, January 29. Guests will be able to catch up with old contacts and meet new TEANA members later in the evening during the cocktail reception and the Friday after-hours networking event sponsored by Load One. On Saturday, guests can enjoy the breakfast mimosa bar sponsored by Full Circle TMS followed by the Dolphin Watch Sunset Cruise in the afternoon sponsored by Sylectus. Saturday after-hours networking event, sponsored by Premium Transportation Logistics, LLC, will also give attendees a chance to connect.
