Tax scam alert: Fake IRS calls

If you get a call from someone claiming to be an IRS agent, who even knows the last four digits of your Social Security number, it’s a scam.

The phony agent claims you owe back taxes and that you must pay them immediately with a debit card or wire transfer. PBS Tax Service says that the IRS will never call you asking for money.
