Senate confirms Foxx as next Department of Transportation head

The Department of Transportation officially has a new leader, as the Senate confirmed Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx June 27 to replace outgoing Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood.

Foxx was nominated by President Barack Obama in April and faced little opposition in the Senate, as he was confirmed unanimously by a 100-0 vote.
