Super-Size Refrigerated Container Has 29 Cu. Ft. of Interior Space

RICHMOND, Va. – March 26, 2010 – At the 2010 Mid-America Trucking Show, Dometic Group will show its new super-size refrigerated container boasting a full 29 cu. ft. of interior capacity.

The refrigerator, which measures 43 in. wide, 55 in. deep and 39 in. high, is designed to slide into the rear of commercial utility vans, such as the new Ford Transit Connect, or mounted on the bed of a pickup truck. Built-in strapdown brackets provide for secure mounting and lifting.

The unit runs on 12-volt DC or 115-volt AC power and can be operated for up to eight hours on its built-in battery without being connected to the power supply. It uses a robust, powerful Danfoss 12-volt compressor. The internal air circulation system ensures good temperature distribution throughout. A digital thermostat allows the setpoint to be adjusted from 32-50°F. An optical temperature alarm reports any deviation from the setpoint.

Other features include an adjustable wire shelf system, internal LED lights, double-magnet door-sealing system and a safety lock that permits the door to be opened from the inside.

“This product will be ideal for companies that deliver food, flowers, medical supplies and other products that must be kept chilled in transit,” said Lou Siegel, senior vice president of Dometic Group’s trucking business unit. “We fully expect to see a few of these around the parking lots of football stadiums as well. It’s the ultimate tailgating fridge.”

Dometic will show its full line of air conditioners for sleepers and day cabs, as well as its built-in and portable refrigerators and freezers, in Booth 20050 at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
