A trucker who slammed into a van on I-65 south of Louisville, KY, on March 26 was both speeding and talking on his cell phone, according to a police report.

The Louisville Courier-Journal obtained the police report, which cites another driver who estimates truck driver Kenneth Laymon was traveling 80 miles an hour when his rig crossed a median and hit the van, killing himself and 10 others.

And police say phone records show Laymon was using his cell phone at the time.

The report tentatively rules out weather, mechanical problems, or drugs or alcohol as possible causes.
