New Pay Plan Available at FedEx Custom Critical

FedEx Custom Critical is launching a new pay plan for potential owner operators and fleet owners. The new plan pays a flat rate for all authorized miles, both loaded and unloaded. Contractors on this plan are also paid starting at the first mile; contractors will not drive any authorized miles for free under this pay plan.

The new plan also pays for all authorized tolls (with the exception of deadhead to planned layover miles). For contractors who run in areas with lots of highway, bridge or tunnel tolls, this plan will compensate for virtually all of those costs.

In addition, the plan pays extra for loads into and out of Canada, loads that pick up or deliver in New York City, and all hazardous loads.

“This plan is designed to make FedEx Custom Critical a carrier of choice for owner operators,” said Kevin McClellan, managing director of Safety, Quality and Contractor Resources at FedEx Custom Critical. “We believe our pay rate for unloaded miles will lead the industry, and our loaded mile pay rate will be extremely competitive as well.”

You can see the rates for the various truck sizes at the bottom of this article. The new plan will be available on June 1, and if you are interested in learning more, you can contact the company’s Contractor Sourcing department at 866.280.5417.
