National on-highway diesel prices drop to $3.801; lowest price this year

The national on-highway diesel prices dropped 1.3 cents from last week, totaling $3.801 for the week, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the U.S. Department of Energy.

All 10 reporting regions showed a decrease from the previous week, with Central Atlantic seeing the biggest slide at 2.3 cents, $3.905 for the week. The smallest decrease was the Midwest falling only at 0.8 cents, making diesel prices in that region $3.743.

Diesel was the highest price in California at $4.062 and the lowest in the Gulf Coast at $3.706.

In total, today marked the lowest diesel has been this year.

Diesel typically follows oil at a slower pace. Today, The Associated Press reported U.S. Benchmark for U.S. crude oil climbed 65 cents to $92.92 a barrel.
