HVUT due by end of this month

The Heavy Vehicle Use Tax, Form 2290, is due by Aug. 31.

This year the IRS will not be sending out renewal notices. You are on your own.

It is required to be in the same name as the owner of the truck and under the owner’s Federal Tax ID number – so if you are a leased owner-operator, don’t let your carrier file this for you. OOIDA’s permits and licensing division can make the filing for you and will promptly return your stamped receipt to you.
