Fuel prices drop for fourth straight week to $2.946

For the fourth straight week diesel fuel prices have dipped slightly – down another 3.4 cents to average $2.946 per gallon.

This is the second time since late March that the national average price for diesel has dropped below the $3 mark, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s report on Monday, June 7.

Four of the nine regions are now reporting prices below $3. The Gulf Coast region is again posting the lowest price of all regional averages at $2.90 per gallon, down 3.5 cents per gallon from a week ago.

The Central Atlantic region is reporting the highest prices for diesel at $3.090 per gallon, which is still down from a week ago when fuel was selling for around $3.121 per gallon there.
