Former driver, DMV worker, faces CDL forgery charge
A former trucker and DMV employee has pleaded not guilty to forging CDL exams.
Michelle Savalle, 40, of Hebron, CT, entered the not guilty plea this week to charges of falsifying driver-training records to issue CDLs to drivers who hadn’t been tested.
Savalle had reportedly been charged with one felony count of conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery and two felony counts of accessory to second-degree forgery.
According to the Norwich Bulletin, Savalle worked for Colchester, CT-based Affordable CDL at the time of her arrest.
According to the company’s website, the driving school offers a Class A CDL program for $3,155, and a “fast track Class A†program for $1,655. The fast track program reduces “lab hours†from 99 to 24.
The Norwich Bulletin
reported that police began investigating Savalle and former DMV employee Thea Radke last year after drivers who took the exam in 2006 told police they weren’t required to take the over-the-road portion of the driving test.
Radke hadn’t worked for the state since December 2006, the newspaper reported.
