Expedite Expo 2010 'The Best Show' in 10-year History, Say Organizers
Florence, KY -- Aug 3, 2010 -- Expedite Expo 2010, held July 23-24 at the Roberts Convention Centre in Wilmington, Ohio, was another success in a run of successful Expedite Expos, say the show's organizers, On Time Media, LLC.
"This was our tenth anniversary for the Expo and was definitely the best show we've ever had," said Lawrence McCord, Show Director for Expedite Expo 2010. "There was a lot of learning, networking, and fun to be had--if you missed a minute of it, you missed a lot."
The Roberts Centre, which offers an exhibit floor of over 70,000+ square feet, was filled with over 90 exhibitors. The show also featured over 80 old-time and vintage trucks of all varieties, including fire and tow trucks from the 1940's, 50's--all the way through the 1970's.
Expedite Expo 2010 featured quality family entertainment. There was live music to offer, as well, with Indiana's Pure Grain, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, and Joey Holiday. On top of all this was family entertainment in the form of The Amazing Portable Circus, the Columbus Zoo's Jack Hannah and his birds, reptiles, and mammals.
There was also a driver-organized barbecue meal geared towards the tightly-knit community of drivers in the expedited trucking industry. Linda Caffee, one of the organizers, says it was a hit: "I think they served over 150 people by the time all was said and done."
The Expo also offered a comprehensive selection of expedited trucking seminars covering everything from the current state of rates and when they'll finally be going up, to the importance and how-tos of maintaining your truck, and entry-level workshops like the ins and outs of being an owner-operator and "Everything You Want to Know About Expedite Trucking."
"The crown jewel of Expedite Expo 2010, as with every year, is the exhibitors," McCord said. Made up of expedited trucking companies, truck dealers, suppliers and vendors, many exhibitors were looking for new business opportunities as well as the opportunity to get some face time with their existing customers and compatriots in the trucking industry. "Many of the expedited trucking carriers, for example," McCord said, "came away with lots of high-quality leads for new drivers in the now-expanding industry."
The organizers are already planning on next year's event for July 22 & 23, 2011 in Wilmington, Ohio.
