Diesel price dips slightly
After two weekly increases, the national average retail price of diesel dipped the week ended Sept. 12, slipping 0.6-cent to $3.862 a gallon, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.
Average prices were down slightly, except for small increases in the Rocky Mountain, West Coast and California areas. The declines were about 1 cent or less.
With the latest price dip, the national average price is still 91.9 cents higher than a year ago. The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
