Wild West

We were following an old black top road for several miles which deteriorated the further back towards the hills we went. We went through  a couple of locked gates and then finally we could see a few buildings. We were led to the area where we could pick up our load. I asked one of the workers what the stone structure was I could see down in the valley and she replied that used to be an old stage coach relay station and from there my imagination took off. The area was gorgeous with the valley having an old dry wash running through the middle of it. Towards the east was a box canyon and then towards the west the canyon spilled into an open valley. There were two buildings and one huge corral and they were all rock structures. It was hard to imagine the work that was involved to erect it. The corral was very large looking to be about 100 sq ft, a much larger area than the two structures. The two buildings are started to deteriorate, but they still are very impressive. It was very easy to imagine what the scene must have looked like as the stage came rumbling in as travelers were heading west.
We get to see some of the coolest things in our line of work!
