What is a hidden Mickey?

There is actually a Hidden Mickey website to report hidden Mickey's that are found inside the Disney Parks.  If you want to buy a guide to find the Hidden Mickeys there are many books to help you.

This phenomenon started as an insider joke among the Walt Disney Imaginers who would conceal a design of a Mickey in a movie, park attraction, or at one of the resorts.   Originally, it took the shape of a head and ears silhouette, but in some cases the shape has become more elaborate.

The hidden Mickey idea has spread and this outline can be found many places, including our new Bolt Custom Sleeper.   Bob wanted to try something different then the usual interior of the Bolt Sleeper.   While we were talking about the design of the sleeper he asked AJ, who is the interior design coordinator, if she could do a diamond tuck interior.   She gave him a blank look and said "what?”     Well AJ is not one to let lack of knowledge stand in her way and she immediately started watching You Tube Video's and practicing then she practiced some more.

When it came time to do the actual work on the interior of our sleeper she had mastered the art of creating a diamond tuck.   Unknown to us she had also figured out how to get Mickey into our truck with style.   The first Mickey we saw was the one on the door of the freezer and then she said I have at least ten more hidden inside this sleeper!

Some of the silhouettes are a sewn outline and others are cut outs in unusual or hidden places.   These are fun to find and when all of the sudden we see one we smile as AJ did a great job of incorporating them into the design of this unique sleeper.

If you would like to find the Hidden Mickey's you will have to take a tour of the sleeper as I will not post pictures.

The next time we will be showing the truck is at the Freightliner Team Run Smart Pit Stop VIP Truck Parking Lot, NASCAR Event Oct 31 - Nov 2nd 2014, at the Texas Motor Speedway.    This is a free event and should be a lot of fun if you are in the area stop by for a visit.   To learn more about the event visit the web site and pre register:
