It's a Team's Life
What a great holiday
We loaded in the afternoon and our first stop was a small town in Kansas on our route. Our friend Jo is a professional long arm quilter. She does amazing work and we are lucky enough to have a quilt Jo created and also to have a couple quilts Bob’s mother has made that Jo quilted. Jo lives in the country and we were able to park our truck at her house. Her cherry tree was ready to be picked and I soon had a ladder and a bag out picking cherries! What a great treat. We were able to spend the night in the quiet boondocks, have breakfast with Jo, then continue on our route.
Our next stop was Wichita, KS to see Bob’s dad and stepmom
for lunch.
They took us to a nice
restaurant and for a quick visit to the house.
We left Wichita in the evening for Oklahoma City and the next family
member to visit.
Bob's uncle and aunt live in Oklahoma City and they have always
been glad to come get us for the day.
We
spent the day in the downtown area enjoying the river boats, and then Bob and I
gave the segways a whirl!
We sure
enjoyed zipping around on the segways and I even managed to not run over any
pedestrians.
This is the first time we have had this happen and we really enjoyed our weekend of visiting family and friends.
