It's a Team's Life
Were Back…
This year we have not been home except for a couple of days to finish preparing our receipts for our accountant and getting them sent off. We like to come home for a longer time in the spring to get things done around the house, get our winter stuff out of the truck and restock with our summer supplies. I also take this time to go through my cabinets and pull out stuff we have not used or stuff we will not use in the upcoming summer months.
During our home time we make appointments for the truck that
are needed and prepare for summer.
Our
Interlift Gate is almost seven years old and it was time to get some preventive
maintenance done so that it will continue to serve us for another seven
years.
We also had an MD Alignment
performed on the truck as we have noticed some irregular steer tire wear.
The front of the Cascadia is heavy and Bob is
constantly monitoring the tires so that we can get peak performance out of our
Michelins.
The time has flown by and now I am reloading the truck and it is about stuffed. While at home I prepare extra when cooking meals and freeze the leftovers for a nice home cooked meal later on in the truck. I restock the truck with items I know we like to eat in the summer and make room for a lot more fresh vegetables and fruit. We often cook out in the summer on our small grill and I will stock up on tin foil. I use the tin foil to cover the grill and to make small bowls to hold food so that the food will not slip through the grill. This makes for easy cleanup.
The Bolt Custom Sleeper has room on the table for fresh flowers and I carry a vase (cup) that will fit in the cup holders when we have the bed down. The flowers scream spring and bring a wonderful touch to the interior. One of the things I miss not being home all of the time is the ability to plant flowers and tend to them all summer. Little touches like the flowers and decorating is just one more way to make the Cascadia and the sleeper feel like home.
Loading and unloaded our truck during home time is easy as we park the truck at the house. Bob usually keeps the truck at the shop on the cement slab he had poured. He likes to do little extras the truck while we are at home and the convenience of having the truck in reach makes this very easy. Once it is time to reload the truck the Cascadia is brought back up to the house and I start carrying supplies out.
Sometimes we have a load pre assignment and other times we
do not have a clue where we are going next. Once I start loading the truck
anticipation sets in on where we will be going next and we start getting antsy
and are ready to head off into the sunset on new adventures.
