It's a Team's Life
Trucker Buddy Class Visit
Each week I send the class a post card of where we have been or something we have seen on the road. In return we receive letters from them through their teacher, Mrs. Curtis on what they have been doing, what interests them, and also questions.
This time when we stopped in to visit the class they shared
with us poems they had written in different styles.
First they would explain what type of poem
they would read, how the poem was structured, and then they would read their
poem.
Some of the poems where funny, and
others had great rhymes, and all where special in there own way. We especially
enjoyed watching the kid’s faces as they read their poems and the pride they
took in their work.
They are a brilliant
class of kids.
After the readings the class asked us a few questions we headed out to the truck for a demonstration of how to load and secure freight. On our last trip they toured the inside of the truck and now it was time to show them the working end of the truck. Before Bob started the demonstration he talked about our OnSpot Automatic Chains, and also our automated dolly legs.
Next Bob demonstrated the lift gate and how to secure a barrel and we talked about how everything they use comes in a truck. We also talked about packaging and freight securement so that the product is not damaged when delivered. They had more questions and then all to soon it was time for them to head back into class.
We took one last photo of the class and waved good-bye as we
drove away.
The highlight of being a
trucker buddy is going to the class and talking with the kids.
They have interesting questions and they
treat us like rock stars when we walk in their class.
