I contacted Trucker Buddy and received an email back from Randy Schwartzenburg, Executive Director who told me he would be attending the Mid America Truck Show (MATS).   He also suggested I go ahead and apply on line and if I had any questions to give him a call.   I called and we spent some time chatting about the program and what all would be involved.   I determined that the time was right for us to join the program.

Classes looking for a trucker buddy are from kindergarten to eighth grade.   We are asked to send letters or postcards once a week and when possible stop by the classroom.   We are hoping to be assigned a class near the Saint Louis area as we could stop by the classroom on our way home.

Henry Alberts third grade class

Our friend Henry Albert has became involved in the program and he has a blog about his class Trucker Buddy Talking with Henry about his class and all of the fun he has had sending them postcards and the awesome letters he has received from the students the idea of becoming involved was enticing.

Bob and I plan on stopping by the Trucker Buddy booth and meet with Randy in person.   I hope others will stop by the booth 63079 and learn more about this program.
