It's a Team's Life
Tire going flat NOW WHAT?
It was a drizzly overcast moonless night when the alarms went off that a tire was losing air pressure. This was easy to verify by the touch screen of the Pressure Pro to see what tire was losing pressure and the current pressure of the tire. The tire was losing pressure slowly and lucky for us there was a rest area within a couple miles.
We pulled into the rest area and
immediately called Michelin who took our information and what kind of tire we
needed.
Michelin Advantage then found a
tire dealer that made service calls and within a half hour the service truck
was at our side.
The technician
immediately went to work replacing the tire and while the tire could have been
retreaded we were sealed and could not store the tire.
This was a loss to us. As soon as we had our
new tire we were ready to roll and delivered our load on time.
We had signed up for the Michelin
Advantage Program hoping to never have to use it but all the while knowing that
it would be a relief to dial one number to get service.
It is free to apply and the relief on our
minds in many ways.
We were lucky this
time as I did have Internet access but that is not always the case depending on
where the incident happens.
With out
Internet we would be dead in the water without this number to call and let them
find the nearest dealer.
That night we were glad of several things:
Having the Pressure Pro System probably saved us from blowing a tire and causing damage to our truck and having to have a tire fixed beside the road.
Having the Michelin Advantage
Program was a relief when we realized we were going to have to have a tire
repaired.
We did not have to worry about how
to the pay the tire store as all of the billing is done through Michelin.
While we lost a wide base tire with good
tread we found that having Michelin on our side was an ace in the hole.
