We have used our OOIDA for many things over the years to help our business.   We have lawyers readily available; we have regulatory affairs specialists who can answer questions on DOT regulations.

This is quoted from the OOIDA website About Us:

OOIDA represents all professional truckers from company drivers and owner-operators to retired truckers and spouse members. Although the operations of our members may vary, the bottom line does not. We must all stand together to make the industry a better place for current and future generations of truckers.

A strong and united membership shows those groups that oppose our efforts that OOIDA and its members are a force to be reckoned with. The larger the membership, the more clout we have in Washington, D.C. when bringing important issues before lawmakers.

Our members:

Owner-operators with their Own Authority Leased Owner-Operators - Company Drivers Spouses/significant others Support  (trucking industry workers that do not hold a CDL or drive a truck) Retirees CDL holders Corporate

We feel as if having OOIDA on our side is a valuable resource that keeps us knowledgeable on new federal regulations and how they will affect us.   We have become more involved with OOIDA after meeting Henry Albert and learning how the board of director works.   We feel as if we have an even louder voice by becoming acquainted with board members and speaking directly to them about our concerns and issues.

This year OOIDA is allowing members to vote online for alternates.   Henry Albert is running once again and we are in full support of his endeavors and his views.   I hope that everyone who is a member of OOIDA or those that are just joining will read about the candidates and place their votes.
