Thanksgiving 2015

For the past many years we have not made any effort to be home or with family on Thanksgiving. We will stay out till Christmas and then stay home for a couple of weeks over New Years Day. It is an easy trade off when the TA-Petro Stopping Centers serve a really nice buffet on Thanksgiving.

Once or twice over the past fifteen years we have been close to home or to a parents home and we will spend the day with them. This is always a nice surprise and is not planned. Luckily our families made enough food to feed a small army so we fit in nicely. This year is no different we are hoping for a load that will get us near southwest Kansas but if we do not we are fine with that.

Each year the TA or Travel Centers of America and the Petro Stopping Centers have a fantastic feast. The first year we stayed out for Thanksgiving we were a little surprised at how many locals that came to the truck stop to eat. Once we filled our plates and had the first bite we knew why. They know how to cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

For those of you who will be spending this day away from family we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving dinner and maybe we will be able to share a meal with you.
