We had an early morning delivery in Tyler and stopped at the Texas Best Smokehouse 3 for the evening.  I would recommend this truck stop as a great place to eat.  There is a deli bar with pre made sandwiches, lunchmeat, cheese, and a huge selection of beef jerky.

We ate supper at the Smokehouse, I had the spicy BBQ sauce, and Bob had the sweet BBQ sauce and both of us were impressed.   The meal is cafeteria style, there were several side dishes to choose from including macaroni, and cheese, bow tie macaroni with broccoli, fried red potatoes, pork and beans, vegetables and a few desserts.  There were several different kinds of meat served different styles, as a sandwich, or just the meat.  The convenience store had row upon row of specialty food items.  I looked at several types of BBQ Sauce, Hot Sauce, pickled items, and the list goes on.

The atmosphere is fun as the employees all wear cowboy garb.  The building is built like a log cabin with a fireplace in the dining area.  You are greeted as you walk through the door with a “welcome” and the friendliness continues throughout the building.  The woman’s bathroom has a very different sink that is awesome looking. The bathroom and whole place is really first class and a five star truck stop. We will be stopping by here again for a meal and I am sure another package of beef jerky.

I would not recommend this truck stop if we were doing a 34-hour restart, as there is no amenities, such as driver showers.  If you are going through the area, stop by and check them out.  You can look them up on Facebook “Texas Best Smokehouse” and see if there is a location near you.
