Tamarack

Everything in the Tamarack has been made or is about people who reside in West Virginia. I have picked up books about Chuck Yeager and I have also bought an awesome glass blown snowman. Around the edges of the round building are viewing areas where local artisans create items. There are quilters, glass blowers, iron workers, and painters. We have been lucky enough to see a few at work. There are all kinds of amazing well crafted items for your house or your yard. The handcrafted furniture for your house is amazing and the detail just amazes me, and then I look at the price tag. The book section is huge and I always spend a lot of time in this area and there are many interesting characters from this area. One author I really enjoy reading is Homer Hickman, who has written about the coal mines and growing up in West Virginia. There is also a nice cafeteria in the Tamarack.

If you have time there are nice sidewalks and the hills to take a nice walk around.

I have included a couple of my favorite pieces to admire.
