Surprise Surprise

 

Dick’s truck is hard to miss and I knew immediately who was passing me.   Dick had also recognized our truck due to the purple flying pig on our back DOT bumper.   I called Dick to see where he was off to in such a hurry and found out he was on his way to Indianapolis.   We both determined we had time to stop at the next truck stop for a cup of coffee.

I backed in beside Dick so our trucks could visit a tad and our truck could see what kind of truck is soon to replace it.   Bob was awake by this time and the three of us proceeded into the truck stop to catch up.   We had not seen Dick since the Dallas truck show so we were a little behind on each other’s lives.  

Dick had just attended the Charlotte Diesel Super Show with his fellow Slice of Trucker Life drivers Kurt Grote and Henry Albert.   He entertained us with stories from the show from the people he met to the activities he shared with his fellow drivers. Dick is a character and he is a very good storyteller.

After a visit that was to short, he had to move on to get to his delivery and we went back to our truck to await our next load opportunity.
