Still Incognito

Incognito is living up to our expectations as a Cascadia with fuel mileage and drivability.   We have put over 10,000 miles on the truck since we picked it up in Fort Wayne, IN and the average fuel mileage is 11.45 mpg using the odometer.

We spent almost 48 hours in Las Vegas and the Tri Pak generator ran almost continuously and the truck still had a 10.98 fill up.   The Tri Pak did a great job of keeping the Cascadia cool due to the insulation that is incorporated in the OEM sleeper.   Bob took a nap in the afternoon and I stayed on the top bunk working on a cross-stitch picture with a small fan circulating air and even though I was near the ceiling of the sleeper I stayed cool.

To date our best fill up in this truck has been 12.76 with over 1200 miles on that tank of fuel.   The worst has been a 10.24 with only 669 miles on that tank of fuel.   We were hitting severe winds and I believe if we would have stretched that tank of fuel out we could have brought that fuel mileage up to the upper ten’s or even 11’s.

The Caffcadia is still in the shop and it appears it will be at least another week on repairs.   Parts were ordered for the box and the wrong parts were shipped so that has slowed the process down.   It sounds as if the new Interlift lift gate is under the truck and ready to go and the new fronts are on the toolboxes.

We are thankful to Expedite Services for the opportunity to drive Incognito and continue to have an income.   My misgivings about how we would do as drivers and not owner operators have not came to fruition.   We usually forget we do not own this truck and run this truck as if we own it, getting the best fuel mileage possible, accepting loads that make us money, all the while keeping the truck shined and looking good.   We are still continuing to find Expedite Services to be in the back ground there if we need them and invisible when not needed.
