Snow Plows

We were up in Onamia, MN on the Mille Lacs Lake at the Grand Casino waiting to pick up a load going to Minneapolis.  We went up to the casino the day before so that we could get a good nights rest before starting our week.   The Grand Casino is huge and has a very large parking lot for oversize vehicles.

While at the Casino we decided to try our hand at Bingo.   I knew right away we were in way over our heads when all of the paper cards starting coming out and a list of directions.   Last time I had playing bingo it did not seem this complicated.   We were lucky that a lady at the table behind us took us under her wing.   Jackie was a talker and we were immediately drawn to her she was fun to be around.   As she was talking 100 mph she was also watching our cards.   I found myself listening to her more then paying attention to my cards and she would reach over and dab my cards for me.   The two hours rushing by and while none of us were able to yell Bingo we had a great time.   After the games her and her husband took a tour of the truck.

We had a nice dinner in the Grand Casino and settled in for a great night of quiet sleep.   The night was great with no trucks idling and our truck only using the Espar Heater to stay warm.   The next thing I heard was the sound of the snowplow scraping the parking lot….

As soon as I heard the sound of the blade against asphalt I knew the day was going to be slow going and patience would be needed.   I used to fret and worry about the weather and have since learned to take it slow and easy and it is what it is.   Fretting and worrying only loses me sleep it does not change the weather.

By the time we were loaded the roads had been cleared and the morning rush hour traffic had warmed the roads up.   We had a cold ride back into Minneapolis and the roads were wet, but not icy!   Tomorrow we load and head for the south were I hear other drivers complaining about 60-degree weather and them being cold.
