The Slushbusters are ugly and a pain to clean around and people look at them oddly.   It is all worth it when we are running in freezing fog all the way up to falling snow as our windshield does not develop a layer of ice.

The windshield wipers go across a thin strip of clear plastic that knocks off any ice build-up.   There is no noise as the wiper passes over the thin strip of plastic, as the strip is not thick.   We usually install the Slushbuster in October and leave them on through winter and pull them off in April.   The Slushbuster is not re-usable and at $14.99 they are not expensive.

I always order two sets as in variable one is installed at the wrong angle and has to be replaced.   Bob first cleans the windshield and then he turns the windshield wipers on to get the angle correct.   He then places them so the all of the wiper will cross the Slushbuster.

Once they are on we are careful in the winter if we have to use an ice scraper as that will peel them off or loosen their grip.   Cleaning them with the brushes at the truck shops does not affect them and we have never had a wiper loosen one.    They do not obstruct our view, as they are clear and thin.

We have used this product for six years and I have not had to get out and pop the windshield wipers once to know the ice off.   The Cascadia is much taller then our old truck and it would be very interesting this winter on how I would accomplish this.
