Shutting down for the year

I have been counting down the days since December started till we would be pulling into our driveway to shut the truck down for the rest of the year.   We have been running good and staying out of the frigid air up north and it is with some trepidation that we start heading for home.   We have not been within 300 miles of our house for over two months and have not been able to pick up our mail in that time.

I have been ordering gifts, ordering supplies for the truck, Bob has ordered parts and from what our daughter has told us the house is overrun with mail and packages.   I can imagine what it is going to be like when we walk through the door at the house.   I figure it will take a full day to sort the mail, open the boxes and get the mail filed away.   During that time I will be washing everything in the truck so I can reload all of our clean bedding back in the truck and get it out of the house.

I have lots of stuff I have to bring in the house either to be washed and put back in the truck or that needs to come back in the house to be put away.   I will also be adding a few things to the truck such as a few blankets and at least one crocheted blanket for watching movies.   I will also be adding long johns, hats, scarves and other items to keep us warm for just in case.

Once I have the truck items taken care of and the mail sorted and put away it will be time to settle into home life.   It takes me a few days to get back in the swing of being at home as I want to get up at four in the morning and go to bed about seven.   This does not fit in well with the rest of the house dwellers as they are night owls.

We are looking forward to our home time and getting ready for a new year.
