Shower Time

Bob and I choose to shower together which cuts down a little on how many bags we carry in to the truck stop.   Bob has a small case with his shampoo, soap and razor.   My bag is a little bigger; ok a lot bigger that holds all of my stuff.   What Bob forgets to say is when we wants something extra such as a Q-tip or tweezers he has to get into my bag to get these items.

Some drivers have rolling suitcases and others have a shaving bag and we are somewhere in the middle.   The question often comes down to “How much do I really want to carry inside?” Bags get heavy and sometimes we have to wait for a shower and carrying a heavy bag makes this wait time even more painful.

I found my toiletry bag at a Wal-Mart many years ago and I was so impressed with it I got each of my girls one.   It holds a lot, is easy to carry, and stores away very nicely under the bed.   We then have one duffle bag that has just enough room for each of us to have an outfit and hold Bobs shaving bag.   We have been through a few of these bags, as the zipper seems to give way.

It is not easy to find the perfect size bag as they are either to small or to big and both are aggravating.   There is usually not a lot of room in the showers to set things, and a large bag is hard to handle.   Everything comes down to space, weight, and personal preferences.

One thing we have never done is carry our own towels.   While having our own towels would be nice and they would certainly smell better it is to hard to get them dried out after a shower and they take up to much room.
