These are only a couple examples of how the uneven path had enhanced our lives and kept us always looking for that next path….

When we left our home and secure jobs to get into trucking, friends and family thought we had lost our minds.   The transition into trucking was not smooth and it took us a couple try’s to get it right and find the area of trucking we fit in to.   Now we are having the times of our lives.

Another choice was to get involved and have our voice heard in trucking.   This is not without its downside as it is a huge time commitment to become involved.   Working with FMCSA and other entities is often frustrating as we feel we have the perfect solution….   Which is really not the case we have a solution that fits us not all of trucking.   Becoming involved has made us more aware of our surroundings and an awareness of how things work and we are a member.

Several years ago we decided to dress the part of professional truck drivers and business owners.   This included adding a tie to Bob’s attire and me to change into a nice button down shirt and slacks.    The results of this decision have been pretty amazing and override the criticism that has been received.

Another first that about brought me to my knees was being told I was going to be interviewed on the radio.   When I was told what time my interview was with Nemo my knees gave way and I think I saw stars and then panic set in.   Lucky for me Dave is used to first time interviewees and he helped me along and before I knew it he got a chuckle out of me and I forgot all about the microphone.

It is hard to step onto the uneven surface while out walking or to get out of our safety zones in our personal lives but, often the rewards are far greater then we ever dreamed possible.
